I am Siméon and I joined the team officially two months ago as motion designer! I say "officially", because I had the opportunity to do a 6-month internship there in 2016 and as a result, I already know the team. 8-)
Not really motion designer at the start
Before getting to that point, and just so you know a little more about me, I had the goal of becoming a teacher, but over time, I realized that the creative field interested me much more and that it wouldn't just be a hobby; I started by testing the music by taking 6 months full-time to play guitar with a private teacher and try to get into the HEMU. It didn't work and, after thinking about it, I realized that I wasn't interested in this aspect of the music, so I tried something else, including 2 semesters at the CFMS in sound engineering, to finally start a training course at ERACOM in interactive media design (More information here)
During this period, I was able to develop the area in which I wanted to specialize myself: motion design. Moreover, if you still don't know what it is and you haven't read the article making-of-animation at superhuit, Motion design (or motion graphic design) "is a subset of graphic design in that it uses graphic design principles in a filmmaking or video production context through the use of animation or filmic techniques" (Thank you wiki ) Otherwise, you can also watch this video, it explains all this quite well:
So, after finishing the ERACOM, doing an internship at superhuit, spending a year as a freelancer, I finally came back and joined the team of superhuit for new adventures.
A project that represents the accumulation of skills here (including motion design, of course!) is Debiopharm's patient site. To make it short, everything that moves has been done by us, the motion designers!
The possibilities are endless :
- from website animation,
- to creating a user experience in an app,
- to event videos, product presentations or anything else that comes to mind.
And that's what's exciting: new solutions for every project.
Now you know what I'm doing here and, when you discover the next projects made by superhuit, it's up to you to find out what has been done by the motion designers!
P.S. You can take a look at gifs, frame by frame drawings, sound design or other (and follow me to discover the content I will add, because yes, I haven't updated in a long time   ) on my instagram and soundclound.
I also leave you some diverse and varied inspirations of the moment and the future past composed :D
